UPDATED STORY: County police say both drivers survived, one in critical condition
MIDDLETOWN, DELAWARE (3/25/2016) A two-vehicle crash this afternoon closed Route 299 east of Middletown, the Delaware State Police said.
The accident happened about 4 p.m. on Middletown-Odessa Road (Route 299) west of Route 1.
Route 299 was closed between the Route 1 off-ramp and Gloucester Boulevard as police investigated.
State police initially reported the accident was fatal, but New Castle County police later said both drivers survived.
