
OGLETOWN, DELAWARE (12/12/2015) A 21-year-old man was in serious but stable condition after being struck by a box truck while he was riding a skateboard, authorities said.
The accident happened shortly before 4 a.m. today at McIntosh Plaza, off Route 273.
Emergency medical technicians from Christiana Fire Company immobilized his spine, said Sgt. Michael A. McColley of New Castle County paramedics. When paramedics arrived, they treated the man for multiple abrasions and a possible head injury.
He was taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton by Christiana Fire Company ambulance.
Delaware State Police are investigating the accident.
