HARRINGTON, DELAWARE (11/23/2015) One man was arrested and police have a warrant for another in an attempt to obtain prescription medications belonging to a dead person, Harrington police said.
Larry E. Hunt, 57, of Skinner Lane near Felton, was arrested Thursday at the Rite Aid pharmacy on U.S. 13 (South DuPont Highway).
Hunt had a prescription for someone who died in October, Lt. Earl Brode said, but could not provide any information needed to fill the prescriptions.
Brode said Hunt also had an active warrant for failing to pay a traffic fine in New Castle County.
He was charged with attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud or forgery and second-degree conspiracy.
Hunt was being held at Sussex Correctional Institution near Georgetown in lieu of $2,500 secured bond.
” As the investigation progressed police also identified Roosevelt Thomas 62, of the first block of Skinner Lane in Felton, as a suspect who was with Mr. Hunt when he attempted to pass the forged prescription. Police have also obtained a warrant for Mr. Thomas charging him with same charges as Mr. Hunt,” Brode said.
