BEAR, DELAWARE (11/11/2015) A 37-year-old man struck and killed by a car while he was walking on U.S. 40 on Tuesday has been identified by Delaware State Police.
Jamaal Ahmad Rashad Matthews, 37, of Wilmington, was attempting to cross the road, also known as Pulaski Highway, near Wellington Drive about 12:43 a.m.
Matthews was struck by a 2004 Isuzu box truck driven by Zuavey Kadafi, 44, of Bear, after another vehicle swerved to avoid Matthews. Kadafi was not hurt.
Police said they are still investigating the pedestrian accident but no charges are expected to be filed.
