WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (11/4/2015) Bail has been set at $1 million for a shooting suspect captured after a car chase through Wilmington and nearby areas by city police on Tuesday. Two other men also were arrested.
Willie Brothers Jr., 21, of Middletown, was arrested after the chase ended when the 2006 BMW he was driving became disabled about 7:25 p.m. at Lancaster Avenue and Jackson Street, police said. He is charged in connection with the shooting of a 22-year-old man Thursday in the first block of Jensen Drive.
Brothers and the two others were captured after a brief foot chase, police said.
Four guns were found in the BMW, police said.
Brothers was charged with attempted robbery, assault, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony and second-degree conspiracy in connection with the shooting. In connection with the extensive pursuit, which police said went through the west side of the city and nearby areas, he was charged with disregarding an officer’s signal, driving while suspended or revoked, reckless driving, aggressive driving, two counts of failure to obey a traffic device and failure to have lights on when required.
Brothers and the two others arrested — Troy Gee,24, of Wilmington and Quamyr Seals, 18, of Wilmington — all were charged with four counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited and four counts of possession of a firearm in a school safe zone.
Cash bail for Gee was set at $600,000 and for Seals was set at $300,000.
Police said they seized a MasterPiece Arms .45 ACP handgun with an extended magazine that was in plain view next to the driver’s side door, a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun in the back seat and two other handguns found in a box, a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber and a .45 caliber Sig Sauer 1911, as well as .45 caliber, .40 caliber, and .380 caliber ammunition.
The car chase began, police said, when officers spotted the vehicle with a Delaware tag and determined it was operated by possible wanted suspect.
