Man charged in Taco Bell, Artisans’ Bank robberies

GLASGOW, DELAWARE (10/18/2015) A 20-year-old Newark man was charged in robberies at an Artisans’ Bank branch and a Taco Bell restaurant, Delaware State Police said Saturday.

The Taco Bell robbery happened about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 379 E. Chestnut Hill Road, in the Brookside area.

The Artisans’ Bank robbery happened about 11 a.m. Friday at 2424 Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40) in Glasgow.

In both cases the robber implied he had a gun and escaped with cash on foot.

After the second robbery, police located Daniel R. Kalinowski in front of Family Christian Book store in Peoples Plaza, about a half mile south of the bank.

Police said he was linked to the crimes and charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and wearing a disguise during commission of a felony.

Kalinowski was being held at Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington in lieu of $100,500 secured bail.
