Wilmington-area man sought in Dover robbery, shooting

DOVER, DELAWARE (9/29/2015) A 24-year-old Wilmington-area man is being sought by Dover police in connection with a robbery which was followed by a pursuit by the victim and shots fired at his vehicle, police said today.

Kwame Redmond, of the 1600 block of Bonwood Road in the Alban Park area west of Wilmington, is wanted on charges of first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, reckless endangering, conspiracy and criminal mischief.

Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman, spokesman for Dover police, said Redmond and another unknown person met the 31-year-old victim on Cecil Street west of North New Street about 12:25 p.m. Friday and robbed the man of cash at gunpoint.

“The victim then chased the suspects, who were on foot, in his vehicle to the area of Fulton Street and New Street. The suspects then fired at the victim multiple times, causing him to flee from the area in his vehicle. It was soon discovered that rounds struck two separate homes in the 100 Block of North New Street as well,” Hoffman said.
