DOVER, DELAWARE (11/17/2014) A 27-year-old Dover man who dropped his wallet while fleeing is sought after a home invasion, city police reported today.
The crime happened about 10:50 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Bacon Ave.
The victims, a 29-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, told officers a man kicked open a door to get into the apartment.
The two were awakened by their dog and found the man at the top of steps in the living room. He was holding a black handgun.
The man demanded money but fled when he was approached by the male victim, police said.
An officer responding found a man nearby but the man ran, dropping his wallet before escaping.
Identification in the wallet led to police naming Erick Wyatte of 401 East Wind Drive, Dover, as the suspect. He is sought on first-degree robbery and related charges.
