LEWES, DELAWARE (11/17/2014) Improvements are about to be made on a beach-area intersection, converting two close intersections on Plantation Road into one.
Delaware Department of Transportation says work will start Dec. 1 to align Cedar Grove Road and Postal Lane, which now are about 150 feet apart where they intersect Plantation Road.
DelDOT says work to be done by A-Del Construction will make the intersection safer.
Lane restrictions will occur weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for about the next 7 months.
The project includes turn lanes, bicycle lanes, sidewalks and street lights as well as a traffic signal.
