Fuel spill shuts streets in Claymont

CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (7/19/2017) Hundreds of gallons of gasoline was spilled onto Philadelphia Pike when a wrong valve was opened on a gasoline tanker, according to reports from the scene.

The spill happened about 6 p.m. Wednesday at Seminole Boulevard/Wiltshire Road.

Philadelphia Pike lanes and other nearby streets were closed for the cleanup until about 9:30 p.m.

Claymont firefighters responded.
