Fire destroyed former Pike Creek Bowling Center and Charcoal Pit restaurant building. (Photo: Delaware Free News)PIKE CREEK, DELAWARE (3/12/2017) Fire early today destroyed the former Pike Creek Bowling Center and Charcoal Pit restaurant building, according to reports from the scene.

The three-alarm blaze at 5100 Pike Creek Center Blvd. was reported at 5:25 a.m.

Mill Creek firefighters were the first responders, with additional companies from Delaware and Pennsylvania called in to assist.

At sunrise, the fire still was not declared under control.

No injuries were reported.

The building had been vacant since both businesses closed in 2009.

The structure is a total loss and damage estimates are in excess of $500,000, said Robert Fox, chief deputy state fire marshal.

He said investigators are trying to determine how the fire started. Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Fire Marshal’s Office at 302-323-5375.
