NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (7/29/2016) A BP gas station clerk swung a baseball bat at a robber confronting him with a knife, sending him away empty-handed, Delaware State Police said Thursday.
The robbery attempt happened about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday at 601 N. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13) near New Castle.
No one was injured.
The robber was described as a white male, 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-8 and 130-140 pounds. His face was covered.
