2 injured in I-95 crash

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (6/18/2016) Two people were injured Friday in a crash on southbound Interstate 95 near Wilmington, authorities said.

The crash, involving a compact car and a box truck, happened shortly before 1 p.m. at the Concord Pike (U.S. 202) off ramp.

A 32-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was treated for possible head, arm, hip and chest injuries, said Sgt. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics. He was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in serious but stable condition.

A 24-year-old woman who was driving the car was evaluated for possible facial and neck injuries, then taken to the hospital by ambulance in stable condition.

The crash is under investigation by Delaware State Police.
