DAGSBORO, DELAWARE (6/13/2016) An 87-year-old woman was in critical condition after her car was rear-ended by another east of Dagsboro on Sunday, the Delaware State Police said. Another driver also was injured.

The crash happened about 1:55 p.m. on Vines Creek Road (Route 26) at Falling Point Road.

Police said Mary E. Bradshaw, 88, of Dagsboro was driving a 2008 Mercury Sable eastbound and failed to see a 2012 Kia Forte stopped in front of her. The front of Bradshaw’s car struck the rear of the Kia, driven by 87-year-old Ruth N. Elvey of Dagsboro, with the impact sending both vehicles off the south side of the road.

Elvey was treated by Sussex County paramedics and taken by ambulance to Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, then flown to Christiana Hospital in Stanton. She was admitted in critical condition, police said.

Bradshaw was also treated by paramedics and taken to Beebe Healthcare’s hospital for treatment of injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
