Verizon worker killed by driver under influence of drugs, police say

CAMDEN, DELAWARE (6/10/2016) The driver of an SUV that struck and killed a Verizon worker packing up his truck along Route 1 has been charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of drugs, Delaware State Police said.

Zachary M. Krytzer, 27, was arrested after he was released from Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover on Thursday afternoon.

He was arraigned at the Camden state police Troop 3 via video and released on $20,500 secured bond.

Heath B. Janssen, 41, of Dover, died about 1:55 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by Krytzer’s Mitsubishi Montero in the southbound lanes of Route 1 (Bay Road) just south of Clapham Road in Little Heaven, police said.
