DOVER, DELAWARE (6/10/2016) An 18-year-old man was carjacked outside Dick’s Sporting Goods at the Dover Mall, city police said Thursday.

The carjacking happened about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1365 N. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13).

Two  male carjackers, carrying a pipe and a wooden baton, ordered the victim back into his vehicle, then got inside along with a female. One of the males in the back seat told the victim he had a gun and ordered him to drive away.

The victim drove south on back roads to the Milford area, where he was ordered out of the vehicle on West Woodside Drive. He ran to a nearby home and called police.

The carjackers took his cellphone, cash and driver’s license, Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

The vehicle was found a short distance away by Milford and Delaware State Police officers.

Hoffman asked anyone with information to call police at (302)736-7130.
