2 charged in Smryna burglaries

SMYRNA, DELAWARE (6/6/2016) Two teenagers were charged with vehicle burglaries after an alert neighbor called police, authorities reported this morning.

Smyrna police arrested James Hill, 19, of Smyrna, and a 15-year-old boy in the Stella Street area on May 31.

Both were found in possession of stolen property and the younger teen struggled with officers, Cpl. Brian M. Donner said.

The 15-year-old also possessed stolen bank checks taken from a resident in a different part of town several days earlier, Donner said.

Hill also had several outstanding warrants from Delaware State Police for similar vehicle burglaries, Donner said.

Hill was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. he was being held by the Department of Correction in lieu of $2,200 secured bond.

The 15-year-old was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, two counts of receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. he was being held at Stevenson House Detention Center in Milford lieu of $2,650 secured bond.
