DELAWARE (6/2/2016) A Houston man was arrested in connection with two downstate robberies Wednesday, the Delaware State Police reported.

The first robbery happened about 2:30 a.m. at the Canterbury Shore Stop gas station, 8953 S. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13) north of Felton in Kent County.

The second happened about 10:35 a.m. at Concord Liquor Store, 10680 Concord Road, southwest of Seaford in Sussex County.

Police had a description of the robber and he fled both crimes in a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

A trooper stopped a similar truck in the Coverdale Crossroads area near Bridgeville and took Jason T. McBroom, 32, into custody. Police said he matched the description from both crimes and he was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery.

McBroom was being held at Sussex Correctional Institution near Georgetown in lieu of $100,000 secured bond.
