UPDATED STORY: Dunleith shooting victim identified
NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (4/25/2016) A man was shot to death in the Dunleith comunity near New Castle this evening, according to reports from the scene.
The shooting was reported at 8:26 p.m. in Surratte Park near the intersection of Anderson and Bethune drives.
The victim, believed to be in his early 20s, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
“Multiple calls came into 911 reporting the hearing of gun shots in the parkland and seeing multiple people running,” said Cpl. Tom Jackson of New Castle County police.
He said detectives are investigating and asked anyone with information to call 302-573-2800.
