HARRINGTON, DELAWARE (4/18/2016) A 39-year-old Seaford-area man was charged with a third-offense DUI, Harrington police said this morning.
Ithamar Blanchard, 39, of the 25000 block of Pine Road, was stopped for a traffic violation about 2:30 a.m. Sunday on South DuPont Highway (U.S. 13) near Porter Street, police said.
Officers smelled an odor of alcohol, Capt. Earl K. Brode said, and administered sobriety tests.
“Police also determined that prior to driving Mr. Blanchard had also smoked marijuana,” Brode said.
After a blood test was completed at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital, Blanchard was charged with third-offense driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and a drug, and failure to remain in a single lane.
He was released on $2,550 unsecured bond pending a future court appearance.
