SEAFORD, DELAWARE (2/9/2016) A gunshot was fired during an attempted home invasion east of Seaford, the Delaware State Police said this morning.
The incident happened about 6:50 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Loblolly Drive.
A 32-year-old woman heard a knock on a side door and when she looked out a window, saw two masked men. One asked for a male resident of the home by name, police said.
When she told them he wasn’t home, one of the men tried to open the door. The woman fled to a bedroom and called 911.
While she was on the phone, she could hear the men attempting to open the front door and then heard the gunshot before the men fled.
Police said the woman wasn’t injured but was taken by ambulance to a hospital for a medical condition and later released.
The two men were described as black, 20-25 years old and wearing dark clothing.
Police asked anyone with information to call 302-337-1090.
