BLADES, DELAWARE (1/31/2016) A 53-year-old Seaford man died after a pickup truck struck a tree south of Blades and caught fire, the Delaware State Police said.
The crash happened about 4:55 a.m. Saturday on Seaford Road (U.S. 13A) south of East Tenth Street.
Timothy M. Crocket was driving a 2007 Ford F-150 truck southbound when it crossed the northbound lane and struck the tree with the pickup’s left front. The pickup spun around and Crocket was trapped in the wreckage as the truck became engulfed in flames. He died of his injuries.
Police said they didn’t know if he was wearing a seat belt.
