FELTON, DELAWARE (1/28/2016) A Dover man has died of injuries from a crash in December northeast of Felton, the Delaware State Police reported.

The accident happened about 2:10 p.m. Dec. 18 at Fox Chase and Barratts Chapel roads.

Curtis L. Coleman, 70, died Saturday at Christiana Hospital, where he had remained since the day of the crash.

Police said Coleman was northbound on Fox Chase in a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country minivan when he collided at the intersection with a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV that was westbound on Barratts Chapel. Police said Coleman had a stop sign, but there is none for traffic on Barratts Chapel Road.

The Chrysler was struck on the passenger side by the front bumper of the Jeep, and Coleman was ejected from the minivan.

The Chrysler spun around and came to a stop in a field on the south side of the road. The Jeep came to a stop on the north side of the road.

Police said Colemna wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

He was initially taken by ambulance to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover, then flown to Christiana.

The driver of the Jeep, 22-year-old Cheyenne R. Lawrence of Dover, was taken to Kent General, treated for her injuries and released. Police said she was wearing a seat belt.

Police said they are still investigating the crash.
