UPDATED STORY: Second teen arrested in Harrington gunfire

HARRINGTON, DELAWARE (12/10/2015) One teenager has been arrested and police are looking for a second in connection with gunfire after they were turned away from a party in Harrington, city police said Wednesday.

The incident happened about 10 p.m. Nov. 28 in the 100 block of Grant St., Lt. Earl K. Brode said.

When the pair arrived at the party, the homeowner told them they weren’t invited and they began walking away towards West Street, Brode said.

Witnesses reported 3-4 shots were fired as they left the area, he said. It wasn’t known if the shots were fired at any of the people in the area and they may have been firing into the air, Brode said. No property damage was found and no injuries were reported.

Brode identified the suspects as Jordan E. Dixon, 16, of the 14000 block of Adams Road near Greenwood and John T. Long, 15, of the 1100 block of Deep Grass Lane near Greenwood.

Police obtained warrants charging them with two counts of first-degree reckless endangering, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, second-degree conspiracy and disorderly conduct.

Dixon was taken into custody at his home by Delaware State Police on Tuesday and was being held at Stevenson House Detention Center in Milford in lieu of $13,500 secured bond.

Long is still being sought by Harrington police. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (302) 398-4493.
