Man with tire iron robs Dunkin’ Donuts on Kirkwood Highway

STANTON, DELAWARE (12/6/2015) A man armed with a tire iron robbed a Dunkin’ Donuts store on Kirkwood Highway early Saturday, the Delaware State Police said today.

The crime happened just before 1 a.m. at 4902 Kirkwood Highway, just west of St. James Church Road.

The robber confronted a male clerk, who refused to turn over money.

The robber then climbed over the sales counter and removed cash from the register. He then ran south from the store.

The clerk wasn’t injured.

The robber was described as white, 45-50 years old an 6-feet-1 to 6-feet-2, and weighing about 180-200 pouns. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

 

It was one of several robberies in New Castle County over the weekend, but police said they don’t know if any of them are related.
