NEWARK, DELAWARE (11/20/2015) A University of Delaware professor has been charged with felony stalking of another UD employee, campus police announced this afternoon.

William Harris, 66, of Churchville, Maryland, was charged after a two-month investigation.

Harris is an associate professor of economics and associate chair for undergraduate studies in the university’s Lerner College of Business and Economics.

UD police said Harris repeatedly attempted to puncture the tires of the victim’s vehicle while it was in a campus parking garage.

Harris and the victim do not work in the same department, police said.

He was arraigned Thursday on a charge of felony stalking and five counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief. Harris was released on $1,000 bail.

Harris is on administrative leave pending university review of the case and is not permitted on campus.
