CAMDEN, DELAWARE (11/20/2015) A Maryland man has been charged in the Aug. 24 robbery and stabbing of a Georgetown man north of Camden, the Delaware State Police reported today. The victim was later abandoned in Woodside.

Thomas A. Lumpkin, 57, of Federalsburg, was returned to Delaware on Thursday after being arrested by Federalsburg police on Nov. 11.

Delaware State Police charged him with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony.

He was being held at Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $60,000 secured bond.

Police said Lumpkin had given the victim a ride from the Federalsburg area, then stabbed theĀ 47-year-old man in the left shoulder and took cash from his wallet on U.S. 13 (South DuPont Highway) at Thomas Harmon Drive in the Rodney Village area.

He later left the victim in the area of Upper King Road and Main Street in Woodside before fleeing, police said.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for an injury police said was not life-threatening.
