Georgetown man stabbed, robbed near Camden

WOODSIDE, DELAWARE (8/25/2015) A Georgetown man was robbed and stabbed in the Camden area before being dropped off in Woodside late Monday night, Delaware State Police reported today.

About 10:30 p.m., a passerby called 911 reporting the man had been stabbed and was standing in the area of Upper King Road and Main Street in Woodside.

Troopers and emergency medical services found the 47-year-old victim with a stab wound to his left shoulder.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Police said his wound wasn’t life-threatening.

Police said the victim had received a ride from Federalsburg, Maryland, to the Dover area by a man he couldn’t identify.

In the area of South DuPont Highway (U.S. 13) and Thomas Harmon Drive along Camden’s eastern border, police said, the driver demanded $5 from the victim, who refused. The unidentified man then stabbed the victim once with a knife and removed cash from his wallet, then continued driving until telling the victim to get out of the vehicle at Upper King Road and Main Street. He then drove off.

The suspect was described as black, 50-60 years old, 6-feet-2 to 6-feet-3, 180-190 pounds. He was driving a pickup truck of unknown make.
