HARRINGTON, DELAWARE (11/14/2015) A 22-year-old Frederica man was arrested by Harrington police after he fled at high speed on a motorcycle, authorities reported this morning.
The incident happened Thursday when a patrol officer on Clark Street saw the bike and a registration check found the owner didn’t have a motorcycle endorsement on his driver’s license and had an active court warrant, and attempted to stop it, Lt. Earl Brode said.
He said the motorcyclist, Ryan M. Hacker of the first block of Lowber Street in Frederica, fled west on Clark Street, passing other vehicles in a no-passing zone.
Brode said Hacker continued at high speed onto Fleming Street and through a WSFS bank parking lot.
When he turned onto Dorman Street, Hacker lost control and laid the bike down, Brode said.
Hacker attempted to pick the bike up but he was taken into custody, Brode said.
Hacker was charged with disregarding a police officer signal, failing to drive at a speed appropriate for conditions, two counts of unsafe passing and no motorcycle license. He was released on $600 unsecured bond.
