Man sought after shots fired into motel room door

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (11/4/2015) A man fired shots into the door of a motel room on U.S. 13 near New Castle early Tuesday after a woman refused his request for sex, Delaware State Police said.

The incident happened about 12:10 a.m. when a 24-year-old woman was approached by the man as she was standing in the parking lot of the Dutch Inn motel, 111 S. DuPont Highway, just south of Hares Corner.

When she refused his advances, she returned to her room and closed the door. A short time later, police said, the man knocked on the door and she refused to answer and he then fired three shots into the door.

The woman and three other occupants of the room were not injured. The gunman fled.

He was described as black, about 30 years old, 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing.
