NEWARK, DELAWARE (10/23/2015) An attempted sex assault was reported by a University of Delaware student, campus police said.
The incident happened between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the area of a construction site on Academy Street, near the south side of Smyth Haoo.
The victim reported the incident to UD police on Friday. She said an unknown man grabbed her, pushed her to the ground and attempted to remove her pants. She kicked him in the groin and was able to flee, police said.
The man is described as about 6 feet tall, with average build and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
