BEAR, DELAWARE (10/22/2015) A 49-year-old man was critically injured when his car struck a tree on Route 72 near Bear, authorities said.
The accident happened shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday at Wrangle Hill Road (Route 72) and Willamette Drive.
Cpl. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics said the driver was treated at the scene for a head injury before being taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
The crash is under investigation by Delaware State Police.
