
WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (10/20/2015) A blaze damaged a home owned by a Wilmington firefighter this afternoon, officials said.
The fire at 911 W. 29th St. was reported at 2:10 p.m.
Fire was showing from the rear of the structure and smoke and fire were encountered throughout the first and second floors, Battalion Chief Anthony Perkins said. Firefighters rescued a dog found in the home.
One firefighter was taken to Wilmington Hospital for exhaustion.
The blaze was declared under control at 2:45 p.m. by Fire Chief Anthony Goode, serving as incident commander.
The city Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
