Man critically injured in motorcycle crash in Stanton

STANTON, DELAWARE (10/18/2015) A 26-year-old man was critically injured when his motorcycle crashed in Stanton on Saturday, authorities said.

The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. near First State Boulevard and Sears Boulevard.

The bike left the roadway and went down an embankment into thick foliage, Sgt. Michael A. McColley of New Castle County paramedics said.

Paramedics found the man unresponsive with several severe injuries, McColley said.

He was immobilized and carried up the embankment by rescuers, then treated at the scene by paramedics for a possible head injury, fractured arm and fractured leg. The man was then taken by Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital.
