Restaurant robbed at gunpoint on New Castle Avenue

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (10/11/2015) A restaurant on Route 9 was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night, Delaware State Police reported today.

The robbery of the New York Fried Chicken business at 3060 New Castle Ave. happened about 8 p.m.

The robber, wearing a black mask, demanded a clerk turn over cash from the register. He complied and the robber then fled north on New Castle Avenue.

No one was injured, police said.

The robber was described as a black man about 25-30 years old, 5-feet-10 to 6 feet and 175-200 pounds.

Police asked anyone with information to call investigators at 302-834-2630.
