DOVER, DELAWARE (10/7/2015) A fire broke out in Legislative Hall this afternoon and affected all three floors of the building, according to reports from the scene.
Dover firefighters were called out at 2:17 p.m. and we’re being assisted by others from Camden-Wyoming, Little Creek and Magnolia. A Cheswold ambulance also was on the scene.
Ladder trucks were extended to top-floor windows on three sides of the building.
One person was reportedly taken to a hospital.
Light smoke was wafting out two top-floor windows on the east side of the building at 3:30 p.m.
Streets in the immediate area of the state capitol were closed as firefighters worked to control the fire.
The building was evacuated. The Legislature was not currently in session.
