NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (9/26/2015) Delaware State Police released surveillance images in an attempt to identify suspects in thefts from gym lockers on U.S. 40 west of New Castle.
The thefts occurred earlier this month at Retro Fitness, 835 Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40).
About 6 p.m. Sept. 13, a 17-year-old girl discovered her keys missing from an unsecured locker. She walked to the parking lot and found a man rummaging through her vehicle. The man dropped her keys and left in a red car driven by a black female, police said. No property appeared to be taken.
The man was described as black, tall, muscular and about 20-30 years old. He was wearing a baseball cap, light-colored T-shirt and black sweat pants.
A few minutes later the same day, a 25-year-old man discovered his car keys had been taken from an unsecured locker.
About 4 p.m. on Sept. 17, a 27-year-old man found his pants and wallet had been stolen from an unsecured locker. Later he was alerted that his credit cards had been fraudulently used at the Walmart at 117 Wilton Blvd., police said.
The surveillance images show two male suspects similar in stature leaving the fitness center and the Walmart, police said.
One of the suspects appears to be a black male with a thin build, beard, bucket hat, green T-shirt and green cargo pants, police said, and the other appears to be a black male with average build, blue T-shirt, khaki pants and wearing a bucket hat. They may be operating a red/maroon vehicle.
