LEWES, DELAWARE (9/23/2015 ) A motorcyclist involved in a crash on Route 1 near Lewes on Saturday has died of his injuries, Delaware State Police said this afternoon.
The accident happened just before 10 p.m. on northbound Route 1 (Coastal Highway) in the left turn lane to Shady Road.
Russell L. Pedrick, 39, of Laurel, riding a 1985 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, struck the rear of an SUV that was slowing for a turn, ejecting Pedrick into the turn lane, police said.
Pedrick died Tuesday at Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
The driver of the SUV, a 2015 Dodge Journey, Marti L. Keeney, 52, of Raleigh, North Carolina, was not injured.
