3 taken to hospital after Route 1 crash in Bear

BEAR, DELAWARE (8/28/2015) Three people were taken to a hospital after a pickup truck crashed and rolled over several times Thursday afternoon on southbound Route 1 in Bear, according to New Castle County paramedics.

The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. just south of Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40), said Sgt. Michael A. McColley

The driver, a 38-year-old woman, was trapped for a brief time until extricated by Christiana firefighters.

The woman was treated on the scene by paramedics for an arm injury and possible head injury, McColley said.

She was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital and was in stable condition, McColley said.

Two other occupants of the truck were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The crash is under investigation by Delaware State Police.
