WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (7/10/2015) A train derailment that closed Lancaster Pike just west of Wilmington for several hours this afternoon has been cleared and the road reopened, DelDOT reports.

Delaware State Police had reported the derailment of six freight cars just before 2 p.m. at the East Penn Railway crossing near DuPont Road.

Motorists were detoured around the area until the freight train was moved.

DelDOT reported the crossing cleared at 8:15 p.m.
