WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (6/11/2015) Four young boys were arrested for attempting to rob a 51-year-old man on a bicycle at Christina Park, city police reported Wednesday.
The robbery about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday was thwarted when another victim pedaled away and alerted a nearby police officer at West Fourth and North Church streets that the youths might be robbing another bicyclist.
Three of the juvenile boys were on bicycles and the fourth was on foot, police said. Their ages are 15, 14, 14 and 11.
One of the boys pulled a large rock from his pocket and raised it over the head of the victim, police said, but they all fled when they saw an officer approaching.
Three were taken into custody by the officer and other units arrested the fourth suspect.
All were charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy. Bail was set at $5,000 secured for the 15-year-old, $6,000 and $5,000 unsecured for the 14-year-olds and $5,000 unsecured for the 11-year-old.
