STANTON, DELAWARE (6/4/2015) A robbery try failed early today when a manager at Applebee’s restaurant locked herself and another employee in an office and called police as the robber held a gun on another worker, Delaware State Police said.
The incident happened about 12:40 a.m. at 900 Churchmans Road.
The masked robber held a handgun on a 20-year-old employee and forced him to walk to the rear of the restaurant.
The office manager saw what was happening and locked herself and a co-worker in a rear office.
When the manager wouldn’t unlock the door, the robber fled on foot. Nothing was taken from the restaurant and no one was injured, police said.
The robber was described as a black male, about 5-feet-4 and 150-160 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
