NEWARK, DELAWARE (6/2/2015) A car crashed into an entrance door at the Boston Market restaurant in Newark this afternoon but none of the occupants of the business or car were seriously injured, city police said.
The incident happened about 3:40 p.m. 1050 S. College Ave. (Route 896), at the intersection with Welsh Tract Road.
Joelle Prettyman, 21, of Newark, was driving east on Welsh Tract Road in a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, lost control of the car, slid off the road and crashed into the south side of the building, Cpl. James Spadola said.
He said Prettyman was unhurt. One customer inside the restaurant suffered a minor injury from debris but declined medical attention.
Prettyman was cited for careless driving, Spadola said.
