NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (6/1/2015) A store was robbed of cash and cigarettes near new Castle, Delaware State Police said.
The robbery happened about 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Market Place, 1703 Wilmington Road.
A masked man about 25-30 years old implied he was armed with a handgun and forced a 41-year-old employee who was standing outside back into the store.
She complied with his demands and he fled through a rear door with cash from the register and cigarettes.
No one was injured.
The robber was described as white, about 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8 and 170-180 pounds. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black gloves.
