TOWNSEND, DELAWARE (5/30/2015) A Valero gas station on U.S. 13 south of Townsend was robbed at gunpoint early today, Delaware State Police said.
The robbery happened about 1:45 a.m. at 4235 Dupont Highway — the southern junction of U.S. 13 and Route 71.
A 37-year-old man who was working at the counter was confronted by two masked males, one of them armed with a handgun.
The clerk turned over cash and the robbers fled out a side door, driving north on Summit Bridge Road (Route 71) in a dark car.
No one was injured, police said.
Both robbers were described as white, about 5-feet-11 and 180-200 pounds.
The one with the gun was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and a blue mask.
The other was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and a black mask.
