MILFORD, DELAWARE (4/20/2015) A 31-year-old Milford woman has been accused of embezzling $75,000 from a local business where she worked, city police said today.
Toni M. Stevens was charged with forgery, falsifying business records, unlawful use of a credit card and theft greater than $50,000.
Detective Dwight Young said Stevens was arrested Friday.
Between January 2013 and March of this year, Young said, Stevens wrote checks to herself from the business account and used the business credit card to pay personal bills. He said she attempted to conceal the theft by changing the business records.
He said Stevens was released after posting bond.
Young did not release the name of the business.
