ELSMERE, DELAWARE (04/14/2015) The driver was taken to Christiana Hospital early this afternoon after his car went up on the median of Kirkwood Highway near Elsmere, knocked down road signs and then struck a utility pole, according to reports from the scene.
The car was westbound near Brookside Avenue and the Roselle community when the car went out of control. It came to rest blocking the eastbound lanes and caused traffic problems for about an hour.
An Elsmere Fire Company ambulance took the driver, a man believed to be in his 50s, to the hospital.
