2 sought in robbery of pizza deliveryman

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (4/14/2015) A pizza deliveryman was robbed at gunpoint Monday night at the William Penn Village apartment complex near New Castle, police said this morning.

The robbery happened about 10:15 p.m. in the first block of Amstel Drive when the driver attempted to deliver a food order but discovered it was a mistake. As he left the building, two men approached, one with a handgun.

The victim then fled on foot unharmed, said Officer First Class Tracey Duffy of New Castle County police.

A witness reported seeing the two men rummaging through the victim’s car, then fleeing on foot toward Valley Forge Road.

The robbers were described as African-American and in their teens to early 20s. The one with the gun was 5-feet-7 and wearing dark clothing. The other was about 6 feet and wearing a light-colored sweatshirt.
