Smyrna police arrest 2 on drug charges

SMYRNA, DELAWARE (3/31/2015) Two people were arrested on drug charges after police received calls about a suspicious vehicle on North Howard Street.

The incident happened about 2:35 p.m. on March 24, police reported today.

Police said they found 1.1 grams of suspected marijuana, a metal grinder used to process marijuana and six bags of suspected heroin in a parked vehicle.

The driver, Arthur Kulhanek, 18, of Smyrna, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with an aggravating factor, possession of marijuana with an aggravating factor and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $3,000 unsecured bond.

Police said they also found 1.9 grams of suspected marijuana and two bags of suspected heroin in the purse of a back seat passenger, Amanda Barwick, 20, of Smyrna. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance with aggravating factor and possession of marijuana. Barwick was released on $2,000 unsecured bond.
