DOVER, DELAWARE (3/9/2015) A 20-year-old woman shot in the chest in a Dover motel room is expected to recover from her injuries, city police reported this morning.
The shooting happened about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Capital Inn, 1426 N. DuPont Highway (Route 13).
The victim told investigators she had about 10 male visitors in the room when a single shot was fired from a handgun.
By the time police arrived, all of the visitors had fled, Lt. David Spicer said.
He said the wound caused the woman’s lung to collapse. She was taken by ambulance to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover and was in stable condition, Spicer said.
